This piece is a scena for mezzo soprano and orchestra with male voice chorus,
based on the main speechs of Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare's play, and also
Macbeth's "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" speech.

The instrumentation matches that of the Brahms Alto Rhapsody, with the addition of timpani.
